Finance bring in the money!

Well done to the Finance team at  Wakefield House who have raised over £1,000 for Community Week.  They have organised various different events, including:

Terry Shave running the Plymouth half-marathon (£300)
Bev Pound managed the 100 Club at Wakefield House (£222)
Jackie Bunnett got sponsored to do the Old Ben Walk (£350)
Sweets/games (£60)
Plus other events to make up to £1,000, with money still coming in.

Jackie tells us how she got on doing the Old Ben Walk, which she did in costume:

"Well the weather actually held for us on Thursday 23 June and whilst you enjoyed your hog roast at Wakefield house, my husband Ed and I were walking around London getting some very funny looks, especially from the tourist buses and the mounted police! Well we did expect it though as we were dressed in 1950s outfits!

We completed the Old Ben Walk in just over 2 hours and were the 2nd team to complete the route. Smiths News had a great evening with the Smiths News Checkpoint winning best checkpoint and Ed and I picked up Best Costumes.

I would like to thank all of you who have sponsored us."
