Friday 20th April saw the Wakefield House NSP team ‘Ageing for Athelstan’, as they donned attire stereotypically associated with the ‘older generation’ in a bid to raise funds for Athelstan House Care Home for the elderly.

As well as their own interpretation of Granny Chic, there was also a whole host of activities that took place throughout the day, including…

  • Bric- a-Brac Sale

  • Ration Token lunch: People were told to leave their lunchboxes as home and purchase a ration tokens for £1.50. This entitled them to a lovely plateful of food offered by the NSP Team.

  • There was also a chance to guess the combined age of the NSP team at £1 a go (The money raised was split between the winner and charity), as well as ‘Guessing the famous old people’ (not sure how they’ll define ‘old’), and ‘Name the Granny and Grandad’.

A grand[ad] total of £164.87 was raised - chictastic!

This was a good way of gaining insight into the lives of the people you're aiming to support and fundraise at the same time. Well done.
